This position is a Call Center Clerk position, and handles phone calls from patients who are calling down to place their meal orders. Specific responsibilities include:
-Responds to room service patient telephone requests; enters patient meal selections into CBORD software program
-Assists patients with meal selections, ensuring that selections are compliant on their prescribed diet
-Assists guests with selecting guest meal trays
-Generates reports to facilitate patient safety, and coordinates communication in the management of patients with POC glucose orders.
-Utilizes CBORD and MiChart computer systems to verify diet order and allergy information
-Resolves routines questions and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher levels
-Performs general office tasks such as preparing copies and printing reports
High school graduate. 0-2 years telephone-based customer service experience. Strong phone, interpersonal and communication skills. Must exhibit a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, departmental staff members and allied health professionals. Willingness to be a team member with the ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with respect to patient information. Must be able to type at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy.
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the healthcare industry or dietetics. Demonstrated ability of strong problem-solving skills. Experience working with CBORD software. Experience working in a call center. Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
Work schedule will vary and may require evenings and weekends.
Shifts are either 6am - 1pm, 6:30 am - 1:30 pm, 1pm - 8 pm, 1:30 pm - 8:30 pm
