The Advancement Services Research Analyst is responsible for managing prospect research activities for the Division of University Advancement including identifying, researching and analyzing prospective donors for major gift cultivation and solicitation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and researches individual, corporate and foundation potential donors.
  • Coordinates the collection, analysis, interpretation and documentation of information on potential donors.
  • Assists Development Officers to determine cultivation and solicitation strategies for major donors.
  • Coordinates the preparation of written reports documenting financial assets, potential for philanthropic support, and areas of interest for potential donors.
  • Provides in-depth profiles on individuals at the request of Development Officers.
  • Enters research into the fundraising database.
  • Possesses ability to interpret and analyze biographical and financial information to identify and qualify individuals who have the propensity and capacity to support university fundraising campaigns.
  • Continuously updates donor records with information obtained.
  • Participates in prospect management meetings.
  • Identifies new prospects through data provided by professional screening services.
  • Develops user friendly prospect reports as needed by Development Officers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement Services.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree preferred and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Strong attention to detail, accuracy and dependability.
    Fundraising campaign experience preferred.
    Must demonstrate resourcefulness in fact-finding and fastidiousness in fact-checking, and the ability to capture, analyze, synthesize and effectively present essential data.
    Demonstrated proficiency in use of electronic research tools and techniques.
    Requires the use of independent judgment and initiative.
    Adherence to strict confidentiality policies in handling sensitive materials and situations.
    Demonstrate computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft applications.
    Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and comply with established deadlines.
    Possess strong written communication skills and excellent listening and collaborative skills.

    Familiarity with on-line databases and fundraising software is preferred.
