An Endowed Chair is instrumental, for any higher education institution, in raising the bar and needs to focus on quality outcomes that leverage national ranking and international prestige. It will be the propelling force for innovation in the SoAD. Following the broader goals, SoAD is moving beyond boundaries of architectural research, to engage in a redesigned vision and promote alternative design solutions that will transform current practices in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction fields (AEC) towards a healthier built environment. Intersecting NYIT architecture, design, engineering and medical disciplines, we aspire to investigate issues for a better life in a more sustainable world embracing a holistic approach to well-being.

Candidate responsibilities will include development of internally and externally funded research programs, participation in school's activities, and some graduate teaching. Essential will be the contribution to programs' implementation, mentoring and facilitation of student and faculty research, participation in student and faculty retention and recruitment initiatives, and in service activities to the community, the SoAD, and the Institution.
