Position Summary:
Within the Classroom to Career (C2) Hub, the Industry Partnerships team is responsible for developing and strengthening the opportunity network for MSU Denver students.

To that end, successful team members think critically about MSU Denver student demographics and their respective career planning.

The Internship Process Coordinator collaborates with key stakeholders to coordinate and manage the internship credit process for students. Additionally, the coordinator will work with the Industry Partnerships team and Faculty Engagement team within the C2 Hub to manage core functions within the Career Link database to vet internship opportunities and track documents required for credit-bearing internships and co-ops according to University and departmental policies and practices. Accordingly, the coordinator is responsible for acquiring and maintaining a deep understanding and collaborative relationship with faculty and academic partners. The coordinator will report to the Associate Director.

The Internship Process Coordinator is a three-year, full-time, temporary position.


Duties/Responsibilities:
Academic, Student, and Employer Liaison (60%)
Manage the electronic Application for Academic Credit process and monitor the progress of internships for academic credit. Investigate reasons for delays and advise students, faculty, and employers on information needed to complete the process
Responsible for acquiring and maintaining a deep understanding and collaborative relationship with faculty and academic partners regarding credit policies for MSU Denver departments
Communicate internship requirements to students according to University and departmental policies
Oversight of internship approval outreach to faculty, employers, and students
Maintain appropriate notes and records of internship issues; communicate such issues with appropriate industry team members and faculty
Support additional internship programming, as needed

Database Support (30%)
Ensure that the use of Career Link is optimized to support the Application for Credit process. Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the process internally and in partnership with the Database Analyst
Continuously evaluate processes and methods to identify inefficiencies and provide recommended actions
Manage the distribution and collection of student and employer internship evaluations via our Career Link database
Assist Database Analyst in managing overall system

Assessment and Reporting (10%)
Provide support to the Database Analyst to maintain and report and track internship placements
Ensure reporting data in Career Link is accurate and comprehensive


Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in relevant field
Demonstrated experience providing customer service in a professional setting
Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail
Experience maintaining accurate documentation
Experience with Microsoft Excel and relational databases, such as Microsoft Access
Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal partners and constituents
Experience with data entry and data management
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly, accurately, and professionally


Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with pulling data point reports from a Career Services Manager (CSM) database
Experience or knowledge in process improvement or systems thinking
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with a Student Information System (SIS), such as Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, et al.
2 or more years experience working within or in collaboration with higher education programming or faculty
Prior involvement with internship programs
Experience managing projects with various stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts
