About the Opportunity:
Responsibilities:
The primary objective of the position is to conduct and coordinate a randomized controlled trial to enhance physical activity in older adults. This work involves acquisition and analysis of functional MRI, behavioral and neuropsychological data. The Center for Brain Health provides an intellectually vibrant scientific environment for researchers and scientists. This project is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Boston Roybal Center (https://www.brandeis.edu/roybal/). The successful candidate will be supervised by Professors Art Kramer and Maiya Geddes and will have access to additional mentorship by the Roybal Center. This posting will be removed when the position is filled.
The Postdoctoral Associate will be involved in all aspects of the research process and will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in behavioral neurology, psychology, cognitive aging, translational research, brain plasticity and MR methods development. Opportunities include having access to data sets for publications, developing and writing research grant proposals, participation in providing academic mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students and research staff, dissemination of research findings at professional conferences, and career development resources through Northeastern University and the Greater Boston area. The Postdoctoral Associate will also have access to the facilities including the new Bioimaging Research Center in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (http://www.northeastern.edu/isec/).

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated researcher with an interest in translational applications of functional MRI neuroimaging. The position requires a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Sciences, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. However, we will consider candidates of any scientific background. In addition, knowledge of research methodology, quantitative data analysis including statistics (e.g., R, SAS, FSL, SPM, Matlab) and basic programming (e.g., python) are essential to the successful candidate. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and strong written and oral English communication skills are required. Interests in the clinical application of cognitive aging research and experience with clinical populations are also desirable
