St. Catherine University and the Office of Global Studies invites applications for the Global Programs and Fellowship Advisor. This is a .80 FTE year round in person work position.

The Global Programs and Fellowship Advisor in the Office of Global Studies will manage processes related to St. Kate's partner programs, including student advising, application, orientation, billing, grade transfer and returnee processes related to students studying on partner programs. This position is responsible for maintaining and evaluating existing program partnerships as well as the vetting process for new partnerships. The position also has responsibilities managing involving curricular integration (i.e. courses). This position also supports the fellowships work, and advising for faculty led-programs. Finally, the position supports student recruitment and advising on for nationally competitive post-graduate fellowships (i.e. Fulbright). This position is part of Global Studies and Competitive Fellowships, in the Office of Scholarly Engagement which also includes the Antonian Honors Program, Collaborative Research, and Community Work and Learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and manages all partner programs, including processes around student outreach, pre-departure advising and orientation, application review, billing, credit transfer, program evaluation and returnee programming.
  • Responsible for maintaining existing program partnerships as well as the vetting process for new partnerships.
  • Oversee the overall marketing and promotion of partner programs via the website, database, print materials, and Study Abroad Fair. Represent Global Studies at St. Kate's Admissions and Registration events and activities as well as external study abroad meetings and conferences.
  • Works with the director to conduct curriculum integration projects with 4-5 departments each year to identify and highlight specific study abroad opportunities for their students. Researches and promotes faculty development opportunities connected to global learning and our program partners.
  • Manages a portfolio of outside scholarships for our students. Develops and executes an organized application system for major scholarships (e.g. Gilman, Freeman Asia) which includes individualized coaching, group learning sessions, and feedback. Serves on review panels for national scholarships (Gilman, Boren, CLS).
  • Supervises, trains and mentors student staff.
  • Works with Fellowship Director on outreach, education as well as student advising and support for fellowships and their different processes. Serves on review committees for post-graduate fellowships. Work with Fellowship Director to offer regular programming, cohort structures potentially through a credit-bearing course that focuses on preparing for a fellowship competition.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in higher education, nonprofit or related field; advising experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills supporting diverse identities, and a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive support
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to inspire, motivate and excite college students.
  • International experience (studying, living or working abroad)





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with international education
  • Knowledge of and experience working with fellowships, for example Fulbright
  • Supervising experience
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Advising experience in higher education, non profit or related field
