Position Summary
Responsible for the Registrar's transfer credit process for committed transfer students and serves as the primary University point of contact for the transfer evaluation process for all colleges and programs. Serves as knowledgeable/expert resource to ensure transfer articulations, evaluations, and procedures meet with the University of Hartford policy and FERPA regulations, as well as being universal throughout the Colleges. Makes final decisions regarding the transfer credits to ensure consistency throughout the University. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range
Budgeted starting salary is $50,455 to $57,000, depending upon experience
Key Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates all correspondence between the Colleges and the Manager of Student Services and Evaluation staff. Counsels and advises students and staff regarding their individual transfer credit evaluations. Oversees workflow of the transfer credit evaluation process and collaborates with the Office of Admissions, and University of Hartford schools and colleges to assure incoming student evaluations are completed on a timely and efficient basis. Reconciles reports related to transfer credit evaluations.
- Acts as faculty liaison with departmental transfer credit evaluators, providing faculty with documentation on newly presented and non-standard courses. Builds transfer inventory (articulation) in Ellucian Banner, and the Transfer Evaluation System (TES), and ensures accuracy. Preserves and catalogs documentation of departmental evaluations, international credential evaluations, and student-provided documentation. Ensures accurate documentation of chronological history of institutional transfer credit policy.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation for the transfer credit review and processing. Works closely with Manager of Student Services and Evaluation staff, Assistant Registrars, and the Colleges to create, identify and implement improvements to the transfer credit evaluation process, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of credit transfers.
- Develops and conducts presentations to the Colleges regarding latest trends and processes.
- Serves as a backup and resource to the Managers of Student Services and for the processing of incoming transfer students. Serves as secondary institutional contact for transfer credit external information and internal data.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
