Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is a specialized, lifespan disease management center within the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. It provides direct comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to over 2000 adults and children with rare bleeding and clotting disorders throughout a multiple state region. The Center is comprised of clinic services, pharmacy services, research laboratory services, clinical research services, professional training, patient education, and patient support programs. The Center comprises a staff of over 60 professionals.
HTC Operations Director is a Senior Leader responsible for overseeing the operations of the entire HTC Program. This position will work for the HTC Director to conceptualize, develop, implement, administer, manage, evaluate, and report on the HTC's responsibilities as dictated by its federal program grants from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), or its intermediaries of The Mountain States Hemophilia Network (MSHN), the American Thrombosis & Hemostasis Network (ATHN) and the Colorado State Hemophilia Treatment Program.
The professional in this position must have a clear understanding of health care management including understanding the US health care environment both in the outpatient and hospital settings, how these differ, and are coordinated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct fiduciary responsibility to the Dean of the School of Medicine and the University of Colorado Institutional Authorized Official as defined by the HRSA Regional Hemophilia Network subaward.
- Primary responsibility for management of grant-related expenditures in compliance with federal, regional, state and university regulations.
- Implements tactical plans to advance the clinical, research, public health, educational, financial, pharmacy, advocacy, service, and quality objectives for the HTC.
- Creates, manages, and upholds policies, procedures, and programs for the organization in alignment with the HTC mission; Oversees all aspects of HTC operations and mitigates risk through strong consensus building and leadership across the organization.
- Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plans to compliantly expend Program Income through support of faculty, staff, clinical services, research, and education to meet the Center's objectives and fulfill contractual (grants) program responsibilities.
- Developing and executing new center initiatives in collaboration with HTC faculty and administrative executives.
- Representing the program to internal campus leaders and external constituents at the regional, national, and international levels. Directing strategic planning efforts as determined by the HTC Director and other HTC leaders.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience in managing projects and personnel within health care services, research, or business environment(s).
- Two (2) years of experience with grants, including creating and managing and reporting detailed budgets.
- One (1) year previous health information technology management experience, including data extraction and analysis functions.
- One (1) year of previous experience in personnel management including implementing HR policies and procedures.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, business, nursing or other related business or healthcare degree.
- Clinical experience with bleeding and clotting disorders patients.
- Previous experience working in an HTC, or specialized care center.
- Experience with non-profit organizations. Volunteer experience will be accepted.
- Experience working in an institution of higher education, preferably a medical/graduate school on an academic health sciences campus.
- Experience with healthcare reimbursement environments.
- Experience in human asset management.
- Experience or certification in Quality, Safety, and Process Improvement.
- Experience with clinical operations including finance and grant management.
Conditions of Employment:

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $83,631 - $106,379.
