Job Summary
KUER/NPR Utah is seeking a 40 hour per week Donor Services Assistant to join its team of public media professionals. This benefited position will serve as the primary point of contact for station donors and listeners. The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to public inquiries, processing gift information, maintaining membership records and supporting the overall mission of the station. This position will work extensively in a donor database, utilizing the database to access and update member accounts and enter donations. This position will assist in promptly responding to phone calls, emails and incoming and outgoing postal mailings to members. May assist with additional fundraising tasks during pledge drive seasons.

Responsibilities
- Provide general customer service for KUER donors - including communication via phone calls, email and in-person.
- Monitor and respond promptly to donor phone calls and emails.
- Process daily gift transactions via donor database.
- Work with new software, Excel, Word and Google docs.
- Manage weekly processing and delivery of donor thank you letters and gifts.
- Maintain accurate and organized database records.
- Support the planning and implementations of the fundraising campaigns, including spring, fall and other fund drives.
- May be asked to help participate to staff in-person events for the station.
- Follow all University of Utah charitable guidelines to ensure proper handling of donors, data integrity, and PCI Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years of related experience required; ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and/or database software preferred; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
Bachelor's degree in a related field may be preferred.
Department Specific Qualifications:
- Word processing, data entry, and/or customer service experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Efficient typing skills and speed (45+ WPM).
- High level of professional courtesy and communication skills
- Ability to use time and resources effectively and efficiently.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Lifting up to 30lbs, carting up to 200 lbs.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish or other second language preferred.
- Professional experience related to database management and customer service; non-profit experience preferred.

Work Schedule Summary: Typical hours within the period Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm. This is primarily an in-office position, with the possibility of occasional hybrid/remote work.
