Job Summary:
The Assistant Director will provide leadership and support for best practices within Orientation, Leadership and transition Programs.
Job Duties:
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- Reports to the Assistant Dean for Orientation, Leadership and Transition Programs
WORK SETTING:
- This is an on campus student facing position.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Student Success and Engagement: Directs and implements second-year experience programs and initiatives for sophomore and transfer students (e.g., speakers, workshops, community building events, traditions, cohort-based events) that align with OLT and Student Affairs learning goals and outcomes.
- Leadership Development: Develops, directs and executes Bucknell Leadership programs for students throughout the year.
- New Student Transition and Onboarding: Collaborates in planning and executing New Student Orientation for three tracks: first- year students, transfer students and parents and families.
- Student Leadership Development and Support: Advise and provide year-round support to key student leader roles (e.g., NSLS chapter leaders, RADical Health Guides, Orientation Leaders and other peer leaders), assisting with selection, onboarding and ongoing training.
- New Student Transition and Integration: Manages the creation and implementation and transition programming a spart of a 6-week fall Weeks of Welcome series.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Leads the planning and participates in advisory groups related to second-year experience and leadership programming involving campus stakeholders including but not limited to Academic Affairs, Admissions, Housing, Residential Education, Registrar, Center for Community Engaged Leadership, Learning and Research, Center for Access and Success, Alumni and Family Engagement, Equity and Inclusive Excellence, Financial Aid and Events Management.

Required:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Professional Work Experience: One or more years of experience
Preferred, but not required:
- Education: Master's Degree
- Professional Work Experience: Two or more years of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to climb stairs
- Able to lift and carry up to 20lbs
- Able to reach and stretch, stand and walk

Salary Range:
44,600.00-55,750.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
