Job Summary

Job Summary:
This position of Administrative Program Coordinator in the Research Education Office within the Department of Pediatrics develops and administers the undergraduate research minor, the Academic Associates Program (Pediatric Clinical Research Minor). The incumbent for this position is responsible for administering coursework, overseeing and evaluating students' health navigation shifts, and managing and advising students.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Program Coordination
  1. Supports all daily program operations and supports Program Manager to coordinate program activities of the Academic Associate Program electives.
  2. Writes and edits program related publications and promotional or educational materials. Supports student advising for prospective students.
  3. Oversees administration of Canvas and other student-facing systems for the program for all elective courses.
  4. Attends class, as needed, and supports virtual, hybrid, and in-person educational models.
  5. Oversees weekly student feedback and manages assessment of clinical shift performance for all students.
  6. Works collaboratively with Course Program Director(s) and Manager to develop and grow course offerings and maintain quality of course curriculum against institutional and national standards.
  7. Communicates with Intermountain Care Management to ensure call sheet and process information is accurate and up to date.
  8. Works with Program Manager and student TA team to prepare for and execute student training weeks.


Program Development
  1. Assist Program Course Director(s) and Manager with curriculum expansion and administratively support growth of the program to a major program.
  2. Meet with prospective community organizations to expand health navigator offerings to students.
  3. Serve as a resource for research education program development across both REO and the Department of Pediatrics.

Problem Solving:This position provides independent coordination and decision making for all activities of a specified program. The program outcome often impacts the University as a whole. Problems arising from these coordination efforts will be addressed by the incumbent who will refer to the manager for issues outside of program policy and procedure guidelines. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Work Schedule Summary: Part-time, 19.2 hours/week. Availability Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (hours are flexible within standard business hours to accommodate part-time scheduling needs). Opportunities for a hybrid telework schedule may be available if supported by operational needs. Employees with an approved hybrid telework schedule are expected to provide their own home office space, internet connection, telephone, and have the ability to work independently.
