Position Description
HR Coordinator Job Description
The HR Coordinator provides support to the HR functions, including academic operations, HR operations and compensation. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
This position is designated to support the Workday planning and implementation team by assisting with operational responsibilities, allowing project team members to focus on project-related activities. Please note that this position is tied to the duration of the Workday Project. Continued employment is contingent upon the ongoing needs of the project, which is currently anticipated to conclude on or around 8/31/2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Operations:
- Database and payroll entry
- Tracking onboarding requirements
- Background checks
- Filing (paper and digital)
- RCW Solicitations and Responses
- Other projects as assigned
HR Operations:
- Update employee benefit deductions
- Monitor HR Benefits and HR SU inboxes
- Respond to external information requests
- Assist with benefit-related communications
Compensation:
- Monitor HR Comp inbox
- Prepare wage change letters for review and distribution
- Maintain tracking logs
- Enter job descriptions into JDM
Administrative Support:
- Maintain employee files and records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
- Support HR projects and perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in HR
Skills:
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in ambiguity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Certifications:
- aPHR preferred

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $57,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible
This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university's discretion.
