St. Catherine University (St. Kate's) invites applications for the position of Operations Business Intelligence Analyst for the Institutional Advancement department.

The Operations Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for creating and providing data, reports, dashboards, measurements and analysis (including predictive) of Institutional Advancement operations. This position will create measures, translate data requests into accurate reflections of performance, and create robust reporting tools to manage performance and educate the University in regards to engagement and fundraising efforts. This position will also document processes, anticipate needs, write accurate and detailed reports and develop and deliver training materials for utilizing Institutional Advancement information.

Responsibilities:
  • Create reporting that is comprehensive and visual for end users. Use a variety of tools and conduct regular review and analysis of the reports.
  • Lead the partnership with Institutional Advancement leaders and ensure their needs are being met. This includes planning for annual updates prior to beginning of new fiscal year.
  • Create monthly reports that are dynamic to ensure metrics and progress of strategic goals. Respond quickly to on-spot demands for reports and dashboards.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, design and evaluate reporting processes and efforts.
  • Lead the collaboration with staff at all levels to determine requirements for creating reports.
  • Develop reporting standards and timeline projections for all reporting projects.
  • Communicate with stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless integration of data from other university data centers, such as student affairs, athletics, enrollment management, Business Office, Registrar and from within IA units, such as the O'Shaughnessy and University Events.
  • Develops, tests and documents Business Intelligence reports and applications. Interacts with business users in various functional areas to gather and interpret requirements to ensure that information products satisfy business needs.
  • Assists with data modeling, predictive modeling, and metadata development in order to translate business requirements into robust reporting and analytics tools.
  • Develops programming scripts to create and maintain data structures that support reporting and BI applications.
  • Perform analysis, both reflective and predictive, of institutional advancement performance measures with the goal of educating staff and improving overall performance.
  • Perform regular system and process audits to monitor and improve applications' performance and to ensure data integrity.
  • Work closely with Operations Data and Systems Analyst to develop and maintain data standards and performance measures.
  • Train end users on metrics and utilization of performance reports.



Salary Range: $51,396 - $71,947

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of professional level experience providing business intelligence reporting and analytics in an Advancement/Fundraising/Development area of business focus.
  • Daily experience working with SQL or with a data manipulation and/or programming language.
  • In-depth knowledge of data warehouse principles and reporting platforms.
  • Understanding of analytical techniques to discover and measure key business drivers.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing end user reports/dashboards utilizing a variety of tools and leading the development of those reports.
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Proven skills in creating charts and graphs to inform business operations.
  • Ability to learn quickly with passion for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot information integrity issues.
  • Excellent communication and strong relationship building skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
  • Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Ellucian CRM Advance (or related CRM such as Salesforce), similar tools for managing data and documents, automation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of and experience in CRM Advance and Institutional Advancement.
  • Certifications in appropriate areas are a plus.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
