Position Description

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides high touch, high quality customer service to our community of faculty, staff, and students. We are looking for a results-oriented Integration Engineer 2 to bring strong skills and eagerness to learn to add to our diverse team.
This position is designated to support Workday planning and implementation (the "Project"). This position is a project-based role, and your employment is contingent upon the needs of the Project, which is currently expected to conclude on or around 12/31/2026. The primary focus of this role will be designing, developing, and testing Workday integrations and assisting with data conversion efforts. This role is critical to ensuring that Seattle University's transition to Workday is successful, scalable, and well-integrated across campus systems.
This position will report to the Enterprise Applications Manager and work under the guidance of a Senior Integration Developer.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Integration and Development for Workday Implementation
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Workday integrations using tools such as Workday Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors, and web APIs.
- Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions that support business processes and user needs.
- Develop and maintain data mappings and transformation logic to support data migration from legacy systems into Workday.
- Assist with validating and reconciling converted data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support the creation and automation of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes for Workday integrations.
Analysis and Documentation
- Analyze business and technical requirements related to Workday integration and data conversion needs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including business process overview, data dictionaries, and interface specifications
- Write and maintain code documentation for change management
- Collaborate in testing activities including unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure integration and data solutions meet specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with relational databases and writing SQL/T-SQL queries, database stored procedures and functions.
- Experience with Python.
- Familiarity with web APIs and system integration concepts.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience using source control tools such as Git.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday, particularly Workday Studio, Orchestrate, and EIB.
- Experience in higher education environments.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Experience with data conversion and migration practices.
- Knowledge of AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, SQS).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience with enterprise messaging and integration patterns.
- Exposure to Ellucian Colleague or similar ERP systems.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $74,400 - $83,600
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible
This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training.
