Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This position provides service and support for Adjunct Faculty in the Divisions of Business & Technology, Health & Sciences, Liberal Arts, Continuing Education & Extended Learning, Learning Resources and also Student Affairs. This position manages the areas of Adjunct Faculty development and evaluation. Functions in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Adjunct Faculty Support to ensure consistency and continuity of classroom observations and student evaluations of Adjunct Faculty. Manages all supporting documents, collects and reports data related to observations and student evaluations of Adjunct Faculty. Reports results of observations, student evaluations and outcomes of Adjunct Faculty development. Assists the Associate Dean of Adjunct Faculty Support with orientations and professional development workshops for Adjunct faculty, to foster continuous improvement of instruction as a means to increase student success and academic excellence.

  • Manage the scheduling of observations of the Adjunct Faculty.
  • Conduct observations of Adjunct Faculty in traditional classroom, hybrid and online formats.
  • Provide both written and in-person feedback to Adjunct Faculty member following the classroom observation.
  • Schedules and maintains student evaluations of Adjunct Faculty in collaboration with all divisions and the Office of Information Technology.
  • Prepare, manage, track and collect, data generated from observations, orientations, student evaluations, and professional development of Adjunct Faculty for distributions to the Adjunct Faculty member and their Dean.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Adjunct Faculty Support, conduct a quality orientation program, using multiple delivery modes, for all new Adjunct Faculty.
  • Coordinate the delivery of professional development programs tailored to the professional needs, interests, and schedules of Adjunct Faculty in consultation, the Associate Dean of Adjunct Faculty Support, the Teaching & Learning Center and other units of the College.
  • Continue to develop metrics and measures of quality instruction as a means of providing support to Adjunct Faculty in their roles as instructional professionals.
  • Provide managerial support for implementing a systematic, effective and efficient approach for evaluating the performance of Adjunct Faculty including timely and meaningful feedback to the appropriate Deans, Coordinators, and Program Specialists as well as to the individual Adjunct Faculty member.
  • Serve on College committees and attend meetings of the Academic Administrators as requested.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Master's degree is required in education or an academic discipline offered by the College required.
    • Experience
      • College-level teaching experience is required required.
      • Supervisory/managerial experience preferred.


    Working Conditions:

  • Utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, in order to perform the duties of the job.
  • Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.
  • Evening hours are required periodically as well as occasional travel to Regional Centers and other COD locations as needed to work with adjunct/part-time faculty.


  • Hiring Range:
    Starting pay begins at $75,131 annually based on experience

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
