Job Summary:

This full-time, one year pancreatic cancer research post-doctoral fellow position involves conducting clinical outcomes research multimodal treatment in the field of surgical oncology for pancreatic cancer on a daily basis. There will be no direct patient care or patient contact associated with this role. If funding becomes available, this may be extended to 2 years.

The primary focus of this research will be focused on optimization of multimodal treatment of pancreatic cancer (clinical outcome research).

In this role, you will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within Dr. Del Chiaro and Dr. Lieu's laboratory, located in Academic Office 1. You will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with other clinical scientists within the division of surgical oncology, as well as other members of the Department of Surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, conduct, and collaborate on clinical outcomes research for patients diagnosed and treated for pancreatic cancer
  • Collect clinical data from patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, including both resected and non-resected cases, across all stages of treatment, in prospectively mainatained databases.
  • Ensure data quality and completeness through regular validation and collaboration with clinical teams, registrars, and research staff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for multi-institutional projects in active collaborative pancreas research with other academic designated facilities
  • Interpret data, and analysis for the development of scientific manuscripts and presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • MD or PhD in relevant field of study (Medical or Surgical Oncology)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in clinical outcomes research, particularly in surgical oncology or gastrointestinal malignancies.
  • Prior involvement in multi-institutional research collaborations or cancer registry-based studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to peer-reviewed publications or conference abstracts.
  • MD/PhD training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic database knowledge
  • Knowledge in pancreatic cancer biology, staging, treatment modalities, and follow-up care.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
