This recruitment is being conducted to fill a temporary assignment and not being conducted to establish an eligibility list from which regular appointments will be made, as such this recruitment may close at any time. Employees hired in this capacity are considered at will and do not accrue property interest in the assignment and are not eligible for benefits.

There is currently one temporary position located at Moorpark College. The position will start in August 2025 and will be 30 hours/week.


This pool may also be used to fill temporary vacancies at Oxnard and Ventura Colleges.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties in support of the Extended Opportunities Programs & Services/Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (EOPS/CARE) programs.

Representative Duties

Screen, interview, and assess potential program applicants according to established EOPS guidelines; review student records and applications for program eligibility. E

Review student agreements to monitor fulfillment of EOPS/CARE program requirements; review and maintain program records related to student eligibility to verify units completed and monitor academic progress. E

Interpret and explain state eligibility requirements related to EOPS/CARE regulations and provide information, assistance, and training to students, counselors, and other EOPS/CARE staff. E

Process student documents; determine eligibility for award grants and book vouchers; maintain the case load of EOPS participants. E

Provide intake services for qualified students, including preparing orientation materials pertaining to EOPS program requirements, assisting with admission and registration forms, assisting with financial aid forms, and making referrals to other college services areas and community services agencies. E

Communicate with the Financial Aid Department to verify that EOPS/CARE students receive the correct amount of financial assistance. E

Provide guidance and work direction to EOPS peer advisors and other lower-level support staff. E

Input and retrieve data and generate reports related to EOPS/CARE students, orientations, and retention classes; prepare student data for the program year-end report and for submission to the California Community College Chancellor's Office; review reports for accuracy. E

Attend staff meetings, conferences and seminars to maintain current knowledge regarding program eligibility requirements, regulations, and District policies. E

Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties including monitoring the program budget, monitoring office inventory, inputting requisitions, and processing invoices. E

Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities. E

Demonstrate cultural humility, sensitivity, and equity-mindedness in working with individuals from diverse communities; model inclusive behaviors; and achieve equity in assignment-related outcomes. E

Perform other duties as assigned.

E = Essential duties

Minimum Qualifications

An associate degree from a recognized college or university AND two years of experience providing student support services to economically disadvantaged students. Experience working within an EOPS program is preferred.
