In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $58,656 Annually

Job Summary
The primary focus of this position is to support the Practical Applications Labs (PALs) campus pro-bono clinic and assist with the College of Health Sciences-Northwest plans to expand the PALs clinical space into a partly fee-for-service clinic, including the drafting of standard operating procedures for clinic expansion. This person serves as the primary liaison and first point of contact for community members who wish to volunteer for the PALs clinic. In addition, this position supports the Director of Operations with the coordination, organization, and payment of honoraria for guest speakers and volunteers. Lastly, this position provides tracking and scheduling of repairs, maintenance, and annual safety certifications for all equipment in the PALs clinic and in the classrooms and labs. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and indirectly to the DPTE-OR PALs Clinic Manager.
Functions:
1. Collaborates with the PALs Clinic Manager to facilitate the development of a strong community outreach and volunteer experience.
2. Coordinates volunteer documents, transportation, and scheduling for the PALs clinic.
3. Collaborates with the PALs Clinic Manager to coordinate volunteer appointments and student and clinical faculty assignments.
4. Assists in committee work to aid the university, college, and department growth.
5. Participates in student recruitment activities including assisting with admissions interviews, on-site tours, marketing, and recruitment events at CHS-NW
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Good computer and Microsoft Office software skills.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with faculty, staff, administration, students, healthcare professionals, and outside contacts; ability to communicate with others in person, by telephone, and by E-mail.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and to be flexible in job assignments. Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments with initiative, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in any field.
- 3 years of administrative/secretarial experience in a higher education or clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in any field.
- Experience coordinating/working in a clinical setting.
- Medical Biller and Coder certification with at least 1 year of in-office billing experience.
- Experience with medical records management systems and billing software.
