Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission plays a key role in recruiting, enrolling, and retaining undergraduate students at the University of San Francisco. This position oversees and manages various aspects of the admission process within their assigned territory, with a focus on first-year and transfer recruitment, outreach, alumni and parent volunteer coordination, counselor relations, and campus events and programming.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission, the Assistant Director collaborates closely with admission colleagues to develop high-quality programs and deliver an exceptional student experience that supports the university's enrollment goals. A primary responsibility of this role is coordinating all signature on-campus events for prospective and admitted students. Additionally, the Assistant Director leads virtual event programming for undergraduate recruitment and works cross-functionally with key campus partners, including the Office of Marketing Communications, Enrollment Communication, faculty and staff, Facilities, and Events Management.

This position may also supervise student event interns, providing guidance and professional development opportunities. This position will also offer guidance and support for smaller programs coordinated within the office of undergraduate admission.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes all major on-campus events such as Day in the Bay (Fall Open House), Explore USF, Meet USF, and Destination USF.
  • Provides support for campus visit initiatives such as department-specific Admitted Student Days.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for all event planning related to the office's functions.
  • Coordinates the events calendar for both virtual and on-campus events.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive recruitment strategy for assigned territory aligning with the overall recruitment plan for the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  • Identifies admission activities and strategies for developing and enhancing prospective student markets whether that be recruitment travel for first-year and transfer students, events for counselors, outreach programming, or recruitment of alumni/parent volunteers.
  • Serves as the lead for questions, issues, communication, and programming related to virtual and campus events.
  • Represents the University in a variety of settings both on-campus and throughout the country.
  • Selects, schedules, and coordinates high school, community college, and college fair visits to recruit prospective students
  • Communicate with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to recruit qualified students to USF
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with appropriate counselors, administrative, and teacher contacts at high schools and community colleges
  • Counsel prospective students and families about admission, transfer credit, financial aid, academic programs, and student life at USF
  • Reviews admission files, determines eligibility, decides which applicants are qualified for admission to USF and makes admission decisions
  • Assesses and analyzes results of recruitment and program management efforts and then develops and implements appropriate changes based on the analysis
  • Utilizes data and market analysis tools to plan recruitment and yield strategy
  • Contributes to the yearly planning and evaluation of recruitment and admission programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree with two or more years in admissions required
  • This job requires some travel (2-3 weeks per/year).
  • Demonstrated public speaking experience and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and refine programming logistics, service offerings, and scheduling
  • Proven ability to successfully plan, prioritize, and multitask and to work with minimal supervision and to follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Experience planning events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, diverse, and team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced computer/technical proficiency.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Understanding of and commitment to USF's Vision, Mission and Values in creating a learning environment that nurtures among students the faith that does justice.
  • Ability to be in-office at the USF Hilltop Campus up to 5 days/week during peak event season in the fall and spring
  • Experience with Slate a plus.
  • Bilingual a plus

    Pay Rate:
    Salary

    Salary Range :
    $70,000 - 80,000 annualized; commensurate with experience.
