Job Description
The Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs is accepting applications for an Online Specialist position. This position supports all aspects (office operations) of the Online Programs operations in the Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs. This includes general support and delivery oversight of Online programs at the Master's and bachelor's levels. This position serves as a source of statistical data related to these programs for reports submitted by the Executive Director of the Office of Regional Centers, the Director of Online Programs, Academic Affairs, and the Chancellor's office.
Responsibilities
Provides professional guidance and direction to students with courses and academic programs.
Reviews official transcripts to determine what requirements must be met to obtain a bachelor's degree.
Use Banner Student Information System to collect data relevant to advise students relative to different degrees.
Discuss career and educational goals with current and prospective students as they relate to their options in various degrees.
Assist advisors in various departments by advising Online students and advising when primary advisors are not available.
Cooperates directly with the Admissions and Registrar's Offices to maintain timely admission for the students and completion of the various Online degrees.
Recruit students for the Online degrees in person, via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Aids students in the admissions process and expedites this process when the student may not meet deadlines.
Monitors, reviews, and revisions of the admission status of Online students as needed.
Develop and provide statistical reports to the Director on a semester basis and as requested to aid in decision-making processes within the Online programs.
Develop and implement solutions for problems that Online students experience.
Verify Pre and Co- co-requisites and override errors as needed to assist in the registration process.
Train, supervise, and delegate daily work assignments for the Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs student workers.
Perform additional duties for the Office of Regional Centers and Online Programs as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Requirements
Advanced degree in business or marketing preferred.
