Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $18.00 Hourly
Maximum $19.71 Hourly

Job Summary

Responsible for greeting clients and other for the College of Veterinary Medicine; schedule patients and confirm patient appointments; process patient payments and receipts. Works collaboratively with medical staff to assure client satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities-or be able to demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using another combination of skills and abilities.

Proficiency with computers, including the ability to format documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software required for the role. Familiarity with internet navigation and online tools is helpful.
Effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with patients, staff, students, and healthcare professionals.
Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology is a plus.
Ability to operate standard office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones. Ability to type at a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Basic math skills.
Proficiency in English sufficient to perform job duties involving documentation, communication with patients and colleagues, and safety protocols.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Cultural awareness and sensitivity are essential for success in this role.

Required Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Additional education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a similar or related position is preferred. Experience in a clinical medical setting is helpful. Customer service experience is also preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (X-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances, in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
