PS Administrative Assistant

Job Summary

Provides complex administrative support to faculty within the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Responsibilities
Job Functions
  1. Provides administrative support to department faculty by scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, conferences, and maintaining and ordering office supplies.
  2. Maintains budget records, such as reconciling accounts and preparing expenditure statements.
  3. Collects, organizes and analyzes data for specialized reports.
  4. Collaborates with clinic staff in ensuring patient needs are met including answering phone calls from patients and/or referring providers and then taking messages or forwarding calls to the appropriate person.
  5. Recording and maintaining certain activities into the electronic medical record system, Epic.
  6. Coordinates the collection and preparation of reports such as call schedules.
  7. Coordinates travel and submits reimbursements

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in business or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
