Boston University's Office of Research seeks a Program Manager, Strategic Research Proposals to provide critical support in advancing University-wide research development efforts. With the goal of continuing to elevate BUs national research profile, the Program Manager will enhance the Research Development teams capacity to support multiple major proposals per year.
Reporting to the Director of Research Development, the Program Manager will manage the development of large-scale, complex research proposals ($5M$20M+) across the institution, providing advanced project management, team facilitation, and strategic input to enhance proposal competitiveness. This role will develop project management tools, and team workflows that scale across disciplines, while cultivating strong faculty relationships and leveraging data analytics to inform and strengthen proposal efforts. This role will also provide communications and infrastructure support to the research development team.
Required Skills
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred; 3-5 years' experience; experience in research development, research administration, consulting, or a related role; strong project management skills with experience developing tools and templates to manage research projects; excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and support faculty across disciplines.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in data analytics for research development and funding intelligence. Experience with InfoReady or similar competition management systems. Familiarity with team science principles and facilitating diverse research teams. Ability to balance multiple large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to high-quality results.
