19Job Description:
The College of Lake County (CLC) is looking for a detail-oriented and student-focused Part-Time Project Manager and Training Coordinator to Coordinate a Student Communication project and to aid in training efforts related to the college's implementation of Workday Student. This role will bridge project management, stakeholder engagement, training development, and student communications, ensuring a smooth transition for the student community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Student Communication Strategy
- Serve as primary project manager for the Student Communication Transformation initiative, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
- Develop and execute a communication plan to keep students informed about upcoming changes related to Workday Student.
- Create content for emails, newsletters, web pages, social media, and student-facing materials.
- Coordinate messaging in collaboration with Student Leaders and the Workday Implementation Team
Training Coordination
- Organize and manage the rollout of student-facing training and support materials (e.g., job aids, videos, FAQs).
- Schedule and facilitate student training sessions (in-person, virtual, or hybrid).
- Gather and incorporate student feedback on training materials.
Project Support
- Track project milestones and deliverables related to communications and training tasks.
College of Lake County
- Support documentation and reports using Workday and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet and MS Teams).
- Support cross-departmental collaboration to meet implementation goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communication, Education, Instructional Design, Project Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in project coordination, communications, or training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project tracking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education or with enterprise platforms (Workday preferred).
- Experience with Smartsheet.
- Familiarity with student lifecycle communications and engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of learning management systems and digital content creation (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Panopto).
Schedule: Part-time, starting at 15-19 hours/week
Hourly Rate: $35 an hour
