Job Summary

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.

The Department of Secondary Education at Kutztown University invites applicants for a temporary full-time faculty position in teacher education with the specific assignment of teaching courses in our undergraduate Secondary Education teacher programs, including, but not limited to, Perspectives on American Education and Supervision of Student Teaching. Targeted departmental and university needs indicate that the position will include a full-time teaching load with four courses in the fall and four in the spring. Besides teaching, hired temporary faculty in our department contribute to departmental, college, and university service as needed and continue their scholarly growth.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in education is required; Three years of teaching experience in public schools; experience working with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse student populations; experience teaching in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

A PhD or EdD in education or related field is preferred; experience supervising teachers as a cooperating/mentor teacher, university supervisor, instructional coach, and/or building principal/supervisor; experience teaching university coursework related to teacher education; experience as a K-12 school administrator; experience with 7-12 grade levels; experience with English learner populations.
