Part-Time Computer Lab Technical Assistant, Information Systems

Campus Location: Danvers

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

SALARY: $19.95 per hour. This is a Non-benefited position.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Provide comprehensive support to the NSCC community through phone, email, and in-person assistance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting account access issues such as password resets, multi-factor authentication, and portal accessibility, as well as resolving general technical concerns. Oversee daily operations of academic computer labs and classrooms, coordinating and executing software installations, system imaging, and issue resolution to ensure an optimal learning environment. Collaborate closely with Information Systems staff to support additional technology initiatives and respond to evolving institutional needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with all members of the community
  2. Provide technical support via phone, email, and in-person for issues including password resets, multi-factor authentication, portal access, and general lab-related inquiries
  3. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and audiovisual system issues in smart classrooms and videoconferencing setups
  4. Schedule and conduct software installations and system updates in academic labs according to established procedures
  5. Partner with Information Systems staff on initiatives including inventory tracking, documentation creation, and desktop replacement projects
  6. Ensure computer labs and classrooms remain clean, organized, and ready for instructional use
  7. Perform additional technology-related duties as assigned


Job Requirements:
  • Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with a diverse range of individuals
  • Proven customer service experience, both in person and via telephone
  • Background in computer lab settings, audiovisual support, or other technology-related fields
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, ideally within an academic environment
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 11 and Office applications
  • Working knowledge of email systems and related technologies
  • Ability to comprehend and accurately follow documentation, policies, and instructional materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds
  • Demonstrated success in engaging with culturally diverse populations
  • Ability to pass a CORI/SORI and/or national background check as required
