Job Summary:

The Advance Practice Provider role provides focused care delivery to our asthma, asthma research, and general pulmonary patient population, primarily in an outpatient setting. This position works independently and collaboratively, providing coordination of care for asthma, high-risk asthma patients, general pulmonary, and patients involved in research studies and/or clinical trials. Sites of practice for this role could include locations across the system of care as determined by the section. This position works closely with pediatric pulmonologists, researchers, and various clinical and administrative team members. Meetings (research and clinical care) are an important and integral part of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Outpatient care and treatment.
  • Research and clinical studies administration and patient monitoring.
  • Teaching/mentoring APP students, and other clinical care team members.
  • Collaboration with QI projects.
  • Continued academic proficiency in asthma, high-risk asthma and asthma research.




Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:



Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing or equivalent education as a physician's assistant.
  • Special Skills/Requirements: Licensed, or license-eligible to practice professional advanced nursing in Colorado, for PAs, Physician Assistant Certificate.
  • Registration with a State Board Agency of Nursing as an Advanced/Family Practice Nurse or Physician's Assistant



Sr. Instructor
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing or equivalent education as a physician's assistant.
  • Special Skills/Requirements: Licensed, or license-eligible to practice professional advanced nursing in Colorado, for PAs, Physician Assistant Certificate.
  • Registration with a State Board Agency of Nursing as an Advanced/Family Practice Nurse or Physician's Assistant.
  • Experience: Five (5) years' relevant experience as an advanced practice provider



Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Presently listed on the advance practice DORA registry in Colorado.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Past experience in treating patients with asthma.
  • Past research and/or clinical trials research experience.





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge appropriate for individuals working as an Advanced Practitioner/Physician Assistant
  • Skills in pediatric diagnostics and procedures as relevant
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record and proficiency in e-communication methods

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor $103,000 to $111,000

Senior Instructor $113,000-$123,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
