Job Summary:
This position is in a research program focused on the early developmental pathways to auditory development and the influences on perception. We hope, by understanding the impact of auditory access on perceptual development over the first year of life into toddlerhood that we can develop novel interventions for children vulnerable to language development. This Research Services Professional will be involved in the recruitment, tracking, and testing of infants, and children with typical and atypical hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of research studies and laboratory functions.
- Support subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities.
- Educate potential subjects on the details of the studies through phone contacts and personal interviews.
- Schedule subject participation in clinical research trial, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., audiologist).
- Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare lab for daily operations including equipment calibration and inventory management.
- Coordinate and participate in research activities across research sites, including, the University of Colorado Anschutz, University of Colorado Hospital, and Children's Hospital Colorado, and possible other local medical institutions.
- Coordinate and participate in off-campus research visits which may take place in a participant's residence or community center.
- Track patient participation in projects, by maintaining study specific calendars and electronic records/databases.
- Less than 25 percent of the Research Services Professional's effort will be administrative work to support the research division's administrative functions, but not directly related to the conduct of a particular research protocol.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications disorders, psychology or a directly related field
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

- One (1) year clinical research or related experience
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences (SLHS), Psychology or a directly related field
- Two (2) or more years working in a clinical research laboratory
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems) preferably Epic and/or CPRS.
- Experience with electronic data capture and management tools, such as REDCap.
- Experience with IRB policies and procedures.
- Prior experience providing direct patient care or support in an audiological research or clinical setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information
- This position may require occasional work outside of standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on study needs and participant availability. Flexibility and a commitment to research timelines are essential.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,721 - $67,061.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
