Baylor University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position within the Department of Theatre Arts at the Assistant Professor level effective Fall 2026. We are searching for a collaborative faculty member with research experience in dramaturgy, theatre history, theory, performance studies, and/or dramatic literature. The specific area of investigation is open but the department is particularly interested in candidates with experience in directing and dramaturgy as well as a record of academic scholarship.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., DFA, or MFA) in Theatre History, Performance Studies, Dramaturgy, or closely related field; ABD candidates will be considered, if degree is to be conferred by August 2026;
- Research experience in dramaturgy, theatre history, theory, performance studies, and/or dramatic literature;
- A record of professional achievement and ongoing professional scholarship and research is expected;
- The successful candidate will have evidence of the potential to receive external grant funding.
PREFERRED
- University-level teaching experience is preferred.
