The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with Library Faculty to provide reference assistance, both in-person and virtually, to the College community, including students, faculty, staff, and community members. Assist and instruct patrons in the use of Library collections, services, research tools and methods, utilizing reference and circulation systems and software. Provide excellent service as defined by the Library's Mission and Philosophy of Service; foster an environment that encourages visitors to follow the Library Patron Responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Library Technical Assistant (LTA) or Bachelor's degree required.
- Library Science coursework, including Intro to Reference, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience
- One to two (1-2) years of customer services experience required.
- One (1) year of library work experience or library reference experience preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
- Must be skilled in the use of current office technologies.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid Remote Eligible: Yes
Part-Time Work Schedule:
Schedule 1 - Thursday 4:30-8:30 p.m., Two Saturdays a month 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m., One Sunday a month 12 p.m.-6:15 p.m.
Schedule 2 - Monday-Wednesday 12-5 p.m., two Saturdays, and two Sundays a month
Hiring Range:
Starting pay begins at $21.70/hr based on experience.
Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers regular part-time positions a variety of fringe benefits including retirement benefits, access to holiday pay, personal time and other discounts on classes.
