The Student Accessibility & Accommodations office at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Access Consultant position.
This position exists to support the Student Accessibility & Accommodations office in its mission to advance access for the whole student. In particular, the position of Access Consultant is primarily responsible for the delivery of academic accommodations and academic support for students with disabilities. In addition, the position is responsible for training, consultation and support for faculty and staff of the university.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students through one on one meetings with students to identify barriers to their learning, and work with campus partners to address barriers
- Develop appropriate academic accommodation letters for students based on their educational history and pertinent documentation
- Provide consultation regarding the accommodation needs of students, and work to coordinate, plan and enact the process necessary to provide access
- Provide faculty/staff development sessions on accessibility, universal design, etc
- Participate in departmental meetings, committee meetings, Student Affairs division events, and University Events
- Work in concert with the Student Accessibility & Accommodations team to plan, logistically coordinate, and disseminate the accommodation needs for students
- Provide direction to the Tech Lab student employees on textbook conversion needs, assist the Tech Lab with text conversion work
- Outreach to vendors (e.g., interpreters, transcribing services, Braille providers, etc.) to manage accommodation provision needs, and work with the Testing Specialist to schedule and proctor testing accommodation needs

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working with high school students or college aged adults.
- Knowledge of federal law as it pertains to individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with a variety of students of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
AND EITHER
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two (2) years of full-time professional experience providing accommodation services, student advising, TRIO success coaching, rehabilitation counseling, ASL interpreting or a related student services position.
- Six (6) years of full-time professional experience providing accommodation services, student advising, TRIO success coaching, rehabilitation counseling, ASL interpreting or a related student services position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
- Knowledge of assistive technology related to accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Conversational in one of the following languages: American Sign Language (ASL), Hmong, Somali, Spanish.

Compensation:
The salary for this position is $42,000 - $46,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
