The Department of Technology Management and Mechatronics (www.uvu.edu/tm) invites applications for a one-year lecturer placeholder faculty position in Technology Management to begin January 2026.
The lecturer teaches undergraduate technology management courses, creates instructional materials, directs course projects, and holds regular office hours. The lecturer participates collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well-being of the department and college. Faculty may be required to teach day, evening, off-campus, and online courses as needed or assigned.

The Technology Management and Mechatronics Department invites applicants for a Lecturer faculty position beginning as early as Spring 2026. This position primarily teaches
undergraduate and graduate technology management courses, creates instructional
materials, directs course projects, and holds regular office hours. The department has a reputation for innovation and faculty excellence.
The department will accept all qualified applications but is particularly interested in applicants with experience knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development pertinent to the field of technology management (e.g., advanced manufacturing, information/knowledge management, lean/Six Sigma, statistics, materials management, project management, quality, and reliability and safety) technology, mechatronics, information systems, product development, statistics, project management, quality assurance, etc.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in technology management, including areas such as project management, engineering management, and related fields.
- Develop and deliver instructional materials, assignments, and course projects that align with program and departmental objectives.
- Create engaging and effective learning environments using a variety of instructional strategies, pedagogies, and technologies.
- Evaluate and assess student learning, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and performance.
- Hold regular office hours to support and mentor students, addressing academic questions and providing guidance on course content.
- Utilize learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and other digital technologies to support in-person, hybrid, and online teaching.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and program evaluation to ensure quality and relevance in course offerings.
- Collaborate professionally with faculty, staff, and industry professionals to support departmental initiatives and student success.
- Model professional and ethical academic standards consistent with UVU's values of exceptional care, accountability, and results.
- Contribute to a student-centered, engaged learning environment that supports a diverse mix of learners and promotes program excellence.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Relevant master's degree from an accredited institution with industry or teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent talking, hearing, sitting, walking, and standing.
Frequent use of fine-hand manipulation is associated with the use of a computer.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development, including online teaching in the areas of project management, engineering management, and/or technology management.
- Knowledge of teaching through the implementation of appropriate pedagogy, clear presentation, and preparation.
- Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of the development and assessment of curriculum.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques in upper and lower division courses.
- Knowledge of student management, motivation, evaluation, and evaluation of (peer and self) instruction.
- Knowledge of program and curriculum development and evaluation.
- Knowledge of and expertise in current trends in education, engaged learning and service learning, learning technologies (e.g., digital technologies for classroom management and distance education), and public presenting.
- Knowledge of online teaching environments, such as Canvas or other course management systems.
