Director, Administration

Job Summary

The Osher Center for Integrative Health supports Occupational Well-being and Whole Person Health of University of Utah faculty and staff, trainees, and community. OCIH is a complex unit of the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences with several entities (Resiliency Center, PEAK Health and Fitness, Skaggs Patient Wellness Center, embedded clinical programs, and The Wellness Bus) and about 25 full-time employees. 

The Director, Administration provides strategic and operational leadership for the Osher Center for Integrative Health, ensuring smooth execution of administrative functions, financial management, human resources, marketing, and center operations. Serving as a key partner and representative to the Chief Wellness Officer, this role drives departmental initiatives, supports organizational growth, and ensures alignment with institutional goals and compliance standards. The Director fosters collaboration, improves workflows, manages complex projects and budgets, and builds scalable systems to support a growing team. 

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Lead administrative operations for the Osher Center for Integrative Health (OCIH), including budgeting, HR, and daily center management.
  • Serve on the OCIH leadership team, coordinating across units to ensure compliance and advance Center goals.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget; oversee financial reporting, purchasing, and resource allocation.
  • Establish operational objectives and implement processes to meet short- and long-term goals.
  • Represent the Chief Wellness Officer when needed and build strong relationships across the university and the Osher Collaborative.



Human Resources & Staff Management


  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance evaluations, and direct supervision of OCIH staff.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to support workforce planning and scalable staffing solutions.
  • Develop and interpret policies to ensure regulatory and institutional compliance.
  • Support research development, grant coordination, and cross-institutional collaboration.
  • Manage the department's administrative team.
  • Liaison between department and building management team(s).

Marketing, Development & Reporting

  • Oversee marketing strategy through the Marketing and Communications Manager.
  • Support advancement efforts and coordinate with development teams.
  • Ensure timely completion of reports, including annual submissions to the Bernard Osher Foundation.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate Director, Administration ManagementRequires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience.
Director, Administration Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish, articulate, and implement goals and priorities.
  • Genuine passion for and knowledge of Occupational Well-being and Whole Person Health with skills in speaking to the national trends, research, and proven impact of work in this field.
  • Experience within the field of wellness is desirable; however candidates with relevant but not direct experience within the field will be considered.
