Position Summary:
The Part-Time Welcome Center Staff at our Middleborough Instructional Site will provide exceptional customer service and operational support during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. This position includes responsibility for opening and closing the facility, ensuring the security of the site, and supporting both students and faculty in a variety of administrative and service functions.
Job Description:
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for prospective, current, and former students, families, and the general public, providing courteous and efficient customer service in person, by phone, and via electronic communications.
- Open and close the Middleborough facility according to established procedures and protocols are followed.
- Provide on-site general services, such as tending to an immediate need or unlocking classroom doors, during assigned shifts.
- Offer day-to-day support for instructors, including supplies, and students.
- Help schedule student appointments with designated College staff.
- Assist students in using self-service enrollment tools and explain policies and procedures clearly.
- Conduct outreach to community members, businesses, and local officials to share information about college programs.
- Carry out special projects and other duties as assigned to support student success and College initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's degree
- Minimum of three years experience working in an institution of higher education, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends at the Middleborough Instructional Site
- Ability to work without immediate supervision
Preferred:
- Experience working within a student information system such as Banner
- Knowledge of the mission and goals of community colleges
- Work experience within a community college
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining with past work experience in a collective bargaining college environment
- A demonstrated proficiency in computer and other work-related technologies.
- Fluency in a second language

Additional Information:
Position Status: Part-Time Hourly, Non-Benefitted
Hours: 18 hours per week, not to exceed 936 hours annually

Hours of Operation:
Middleborough worksite: 5-15 hours per week, Monday through Friday mornings from 7:30a.m. to 11:30am and evenings from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (will be responsible for opening, closing and securing the worksite).
Salary: $17.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
