Position Summary
Provides leadership in the management of library-wide information architecture. Manages, analyzes, explores, and designs solutions for systems and software-related issues, primarily but not limited to: Integrated Library System (ILS), Electronic Resources, and Mobile and Cloud Based Technologies. Investigates, evaluates, and recommends new technologies to improve access and delivery of information resources. Offers vision and leadership in planning for future information technology requirements. The Systems Librarian is responsible for the technological aspects of library software. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range
Salary is budgeted at $75,000
Key Responsibilities
- Manages, analyzes, explores, and designs solutions for systems and software-related issues. Oversees the implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of various library technologies, systems and integrations.
- Provides full support for the library's Integrated Library System and all related systems and database frameworks.
- Collaborates on library website design and maintenance.
- Manages resource discovery tools and online packages, including proxy and URL link resolver issues Serves as liaison both to campus ITS and outside vendors.
- Serves as leader of a team in the absence of the department head and may direct the work of all technical services staff in the libraries.
- Researches and implements emerging technologies
- Stays abreast of current trends and issues in academic libraries; attends relevant professional development events

Education
Masters Degree of Library Science from an A.L.A accredited institution required.
