Job Summary
The Institute of Behavior Science, Center for Resilience and Well-Being, at the University of Colorado at Boulder is seeking a paid bilingual (English/Spanish) professional temporary research assistant to begin work in January 2026. The temporary research assistant will work as part of two Center for Resilience and Well-Being projects called the Community Collective for Youth and Family Resilience (CCYFR) and Evaluating Let's Connect: A Trauma-Responsive Parent Skills Program. These projects involve a collaboration between the University of Colorado (CU), the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN), and Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) with the goal of improving outcomes for underserved youth and caregivers impacted by violence and reducing health disparities. Both projects are grounded in clinical and developmental science with a strong commitment to improving family outcomes through evidence-based interventions that promote supportive parent-child relationships, youth social and emotional development, and overall family resilience. The goal is to implement and evaluate Let's Connect (LC; letsconnect.org), a dyadic, parent-child intervention for families impacted by violence in Colorado. Let's Connect promotes the very protective factors that buffer youth from the negative impacts of violence and fosters youth and family resilience and well-being. Let's Connect builds parents' own social and emotional capacities and well-being practices and teaches parents behaviorally specific, emotion-focused parenting skills for responding to children in a way that promotes emotional security in the parent-child relationship and social and emotional competence.
CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment. We are committed to creating a workplace where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and we encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
Who We Are
IBS is a research institute at the University of Colorado Boulder. Since its establishment in 1957, IBS has provided a setting for interdisciplinary, collaborative research on problems of societal concern. By engaging faculty from all the social and behavioral sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, IBS encourages work that transcends disciplinary boundaries, that illuminates the complexity of social behavior and social life, and that has important implications for social policy; IBS researchers are expected to conduct research that fulfills that mission. IBS is organized into five research programs, each defined by an interdisciplinary area of research and directed by a senior research scientist. This recruitment is sponsored by the Institute's Environment & Society Program, with support from the Population Program, Health & Society Program, and the Program on International Development. IBS and CU Boulder have strong commitments to ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion for all members of our community and for the subjects of our research.
