Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Nursing is the administrator of Nursing Programs. This position directly supervises the full-time and part-time nursing faculty, the manager of simulation labs, and program support specialists. This position reports directly to the Dean, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
- Current active license as Registered Nurse in Illinois or license-eligible required.
- Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Additional coursework or advanced degree in education, health science, or related discipline preferred.
- Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as RN; 2 years' experience as a nursing educator required.
- At least 2 years administrative/management experience in an educational setting and knowledge of trends and developments in nursing education required.
- Previous experience as program director/coordinator/chair required; knowledge or experience with a nursing program accreditation process (ACEN preferred) required; knowledge or experience with self-study preparation required; ability to guide faculty through accreditation process required.
Starting pay for this position begins at $112,170. Compensation above the minimum may be considered based on qualifications and experience, with a maximum offer of $143,017.
Competitive starting salaries are dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
