About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

This is a high-visibility position within the school, local communities, and the broader theological recruitment landscape. The role is focused on broadening entry points for prospective students and supporting them throughout the discernment and application process. The position leads recruitment efforts across multiple platforms, including virtual programming, on-campus events, individual campus visits, conference and fair travel, and both domestic and international recruitment initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Represent Perkins School of Theology enthusiastically about degree programs across all modalities, community life, faculty profiles, mission and vision of Perkins, and admission requirements during internal, external, and virtual events. Provide guidance to individuals discerning a call to vocational or lay ministry. This position requires local, state, national, and international travel.

  • Develop, execute, and sustain an annual strategic constituency recruitment plan by cultivating relationships across key geographic regions and with agency partners, alumni, campus ministers, clergy, conference leaders, and religious studies faculty to strengthen recruitment pipelines and establish future partnerships.

  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of virtual events; maintain accurate virtual event records in the CRM, including dates, times, and relevant details for prospective students; record and edit event videos; and manage all virtual event documentation and reporting.

  • Recruit prospective students through on- and off-campus activities and events, serve as a primary point of contact, and provide personalized guidance throughout the application process to support timely and complete applications.

  • Day-to-day operations include ongoing communication with prospective students, answering incoming calls and emails, cold calls and lead generation, reading admission applications, activity reports, travel and expense reports, assisting with on-campus events and individual campus visits, and other duties as assigned.

  • Evening and weekend hours will be required for hosting recruitment events and travel to and from events and conferences.

  • Frequent in-and out-of-state travel; occasional international travel required.



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A degree in Theology or Religious Studies is preferred.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience is required. Experience in student recruitment, higher education, public speaking, and/or event hosting, sales is preferred. Experience working in campus ministry or a multi-staff church setting is also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

Candidate connection to a faith community and/or appreciation for theological education is a plus.

Candidate must be comfortable and skilled in supporting prospective students as they discern calls to vocational and lay ministries.

Candide must be able to communicate through direct phone conversations.

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Zoom. Familiarity with Slate, HubSpot or other CRM (Customer Relations Management) is a plus.

Candidate ability to communicate in Spanish is highly preferred.
