Club U Summer Camp Program Coordinator

Job Summary

This is a LEADERSHIP role for Club U's 5-9 year old day camps that supervises camp counselors, schedules summer programming, develops activities for youth, and engages with parents regarding camper behavior.

Join us in furthering the mission of Club U Summer Day Camp through the planning and delivery of program activities and events. Design and deliver summer program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers' age and abilities. Assist in the management of overall camp operations within a team of 5 Coordinators and at the direction of the Camp Director.

Responsibilities
Off-season (non-summer):
1. Evaluate existing programming and develop new activities, lessons, games, and partnerships to be implemented in summer for 5-9 year olds.
2. Assist in development of May staff training.
3. Assist in hiring of summer Camp Counselor staff.
4. Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification provided during training (if not already obtained).

Summer:
1. Prepare, assist in delivering, and evaluate developed activities, lessons, etc.
2. Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to Camp Counselor staff under the direction of Camp Director.
3. Physically respond to and assist with emergencies and urgent matters.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years experience as a classroom assistant in a related academic area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); knowledge and understanding of a variety of teaching methods in order to adjust activities/training session to include participants of different ages; a thorough knowledge of related academic subjects in order to participate in developing classroom activities/programs; and demonstrated knowledge of teaching methods and communication skills to conduct educational activities and/or training sessions in a clear and concise manner required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Preferences
Experience working with youth ages 5-9.
Experience developing and/or facilitating activities, programs, or lessons.
Comfortability with frequent emails, phone calls, and in-person customer and partner interactions.

Work Schedule Summary: February-March: 10 hours/week, flexible ScheduleApril: 15-20 hours/week, flexible scheduleMay: 20-40 hours/week (increasing), standard office hours & some evening staff trainingsJune 1-August 14: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 7:40am-3:40pmThis is a temporary position that will terminate on August 31st, 2026. Staff who are hired and would like to continue their employment in fall may re-apply in September and work 5-10 hours/week September-January.
