The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Stem cell biology, circadian biology, protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, CRISPR genome editing, single-cell transcriptomics/epigenomics/proteomics, metabolism, and organoid/animal models of disease. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include Investigation of how biological rhythms regulate cellular maturation using stem cell-derived islets, circadian feeding-fasting models, organoid engineering, and single-cell multi-omics analyses; leading independent, translational research projects from design to publication while mentoring trainees and collaborating across disciplines.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to Further develop critical thinking, scientific independence, experimental innovation, leadership, and communication skills through manuscript preparation, conference presentations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and structured mentorship.

Minimum one first-author publication is required; 3-5 years postdoctoral experience is preferred.
