The Department of Teaching and Learning within the Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development invites applications up to two full-time Lecturer positions to start on August 1, 2026. We are seeking up to two full-time Lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in general education, social studies for both elementary education and social studies education students, who can also help with placement coordination on both human development and social studies, and provide field-based supervision of students in their clinical practicum placements in social studies. Additional service to the programs, college, and university, such as serving on committees as well as in professional organizations, and mentoring students is expected. Required Skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree, preferably focusing on Social Studies Education, and on Education and Human Development, or related field.
  • Minimum three years relevant teaching experience in K-12.
  • Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and advising at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising teaching candidates in the field.
  • Experience identifying potential placement sites for students in Education and Human Development programs.
