Job Summary:

This position oversees planning, development, and implementation of the Health & Society Pillar curriculum, including Service Learning and COMPASS. Responsibilities include organizing program structures, supporting in person and remote session delivery, and ensuring curriculum objectives are consistently met. The role provides staff support to faculty teaching Health & Society, Service Learning, and COMPASS content and leads complex curriculum projects aligned with CUSOM policies and accreditation standards. The individual in this role must also effectively delegate tasks and projects related to Health & Society Pillar, Service Learning, and COMPASS coordination, providing guidance and accountability when necessary to support other staff in completing delegated work.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Society Pillar Oversight and Support (20%)
  • Directs planning, development and delivery of assigned curriculum, designing and implementing process improvements as needed.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with Course and Pillar Directors, facilitating problem-solving discussions focused on course administration as needed.
  • Attends and provides administrative support for Course, program, and committee meetings as required.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement process for assigned curriculum.


Service Learning Program Oversight and Support (20%)
  • Direct the planning, development, and delivery of the Service Learning curriculum, implementing process improvements as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Service Learning (SL) Director, support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing engagement of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs).
  • Oversee maintenance and accuracy of the CBO project database.
  • Manage documentation and tracking of student assignment completion in alignment with program requirements.
  • Provide guidance and accountability to the Service Learning Coordinator in developing efficient processes for managing a high volume of students across multiple stages of the SL milestone.
  • Oversee the use of CU-SIS Milestones to ensure accurate documentation of the Service Learning graduation requirement.


Leadership of Health & Society and Service Learning Curriculum Staff (20%)
  • Recruit, onboard, and train curriculum staff, emphasizing cross-training and development of well-rounded skill sets.
  • Provide primary supervision, leadership, and direction to Health & Society, Service Learning, and COMPASS coordination staff, including problem-solving support, team-building, and performance evaluation.
  • Mentor staff to ensure high-quality execution of delegated curriculum responsibilities.
  • Deliver ongoing training related to curriculum policies, processes, systems, and customer service, setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable for established SOPs.
  • Foster a collaborative, adaptable team culture that promotes effective communication across curriculum teams and other educational units.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts by assessing workflows, optimizing processes, and adjusting staffing priorities based on changing curriculum needs.
  • Ensure curriculum staff have the appropriate tools, resources, and support to perform their roles effectively.
  • Partner with faculty leaders and staff to identify and address staffing needs for Health & Society, Service Learning, and COMPASS curriculum delivery, including support for curriculum committees and key planning meetings.
  • Promote a team environment that embraces flexibility and change, ensuring staff can effectively support a dynamic, personalized student curriculum.


Administrative Oversight of the COMPASS Program (20%)

Program Administration & Faculty Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for COMPASS program inquiries from faculty mentors, student leaders, and curriculum stakeholders.
  • Ensure COMPASS curriculum components-including Professional Identity Formation sessions and prescribed coaching meetings-are clearly defined, scheduled, and aligned with the curriculum phase.
  • Support Wednesday Faculty Development sessions, including speaker coordination and audiovisual setup when needed.

Curricular Management & Compliance
  • Oversee the upload, organization, and auditing of COMPASS materials within learning systems, ensuring all learning objectives, assignments, and resources are current and accurate.
  • Track COMPASS Guide adherence to curricular expectations and maintain documentation to verify faculty meet minimum qualifications and program requirements.

Faculty Scheduling & Communications
  • Manage planned absence and vacation requests for COMPASS Guides; develop and maintain backup calendars and updated faculty pools.
  • Schedule and coordinate faculty development activities, operational meetings, and required check ins under guidance from the COMPASS Program Director and supervisor.
  • Maintain and communicate key deadlines, meeting schedules, and program timelines to faculty and leadership teams.

Logistics, Meetings & Operational Support
  • Schedule rooms for faculty development, student sessions, retreats, and other COMPASS related events.
  • Arrange remote conferencing as needed to support faculty and students participating in sessions virtually.
  • Manage multiple standing meetings and high level program events, providing concise documentation, notes, and follow up summaries.
  • Coordinate Educational Handoff meetings with OSL Deans, COMPASS Guides, and additional curricular leaders.


Budgetary and Procurement Responsibilities (5%)
  • This position will coordinate and collaborate with UME Business Services Manager on the negotiation of vendor contracts, generation of purchase orders, and payment for services to third party vendors in support of UME curriculum.
  • In adherence with university procurement policies, this position will oversee the procurement transactions for Health & Society, Service Learning, and COMPASS Staff (i.e. Concur approvals and CU Marketplace approvals).
  • Oversees Health & Society Gift Card program for community panelists, following all applicable University policies.
  • Collaborates with AMC Curriculum Project Director and Health & Society and COMPASS Directors to review and project annual budgets. Strategic planning on operational expenses to utilize funding optimally.
  • Collaborates with branch campus leadership to strategize areas for collaboration, staffing efficiencies and operational efficiencies that will impact the overall UME budget expectations.


UME Course Scheduling and Support (10%)
  • Manages course schedules and ensures all session details-including group assignments, room locations, and online settings-are accurate and updated in the Curriculum and Learning Management Systems.
  • Coordinates room and event-space reservations and oversees lecture scheduling, evaluation distribution, and meeting-note dissemination for faculty and course directors.
  • Prepares and uploads course materials, learning objectives, and session resources; ensures facilitators and guest speakers receive all required information and guidance.
  • Provides day-of operational and technical support for on-campus and remote sessions, including troubleshooting classroom technology and supporting Zoom functions (recordings, breakouts, screen sharing, polls).
  • Ensures learning spaces and sessions are properly supplied by producing handouts, gathering necessary materials, and coordinating logistics.
  • Manages student and facilitator attendance tracking and reporting for evaluation and compliance purposes.
  • Guides students to course calendars, online materials, and other curricular resources.
  • Collaborates with curriculum coordinators and faculty to ensure a cohesive learner experience across the curriculum.
  • Assists with planning and delivering academic events and related program activities.


UME Team Administration (5%)
  • Leads team members in cross-functional collaborative efforts, serving as a subject matter expert in complex course schedule-building.
  • Establishes and documents best practices and standard operating procedures relevant to core work responsibilities.
  • Audits and updates relevant webpage content.
  • Assists with other elements of UME curriculum such as session preparation and live support as needed.
  • Support Office of Medical Education events and curriculum sessions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.



Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 4-6 years of professional experience in roles with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • 2-3 years' experience managing projects in a fast paced, professional environment.
  • Experience working in an academic medical environment.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $63,554 - $80,840
