POSITION SUMMARY
The Community College of Aurora is expanding workforce pathways that connect residents to high-demand careers. For example, through the Commerce City Promise program, residents are enrolling in short-term credential programs aligned with skilled and industrial trades careers, including construction, manufacturing, and diesel mechanics.
The Workforce Placement Coordinator for Skilled and Industrial Trades Pathways plays a critical role in supporting CCA workforce program graduates across the Aurora and Commerce City locations as they transition from training into employment. This position focuses on connecting students to job opportunities aligned with their skills, credentials, and career goals.
In this role, the Workforce Placement Coordinator for Skilled and Industrial Trades Pathways will build strong relationships with local employers, coordinate interviews and hiring opportunities, and help students successfully move from credential completion into the workforce. The position will also help in the development of internship and work-based learning pipelines, strengthening the connection between training programs and workforce needs.
As part of Community College of Aurora's Career Coaching & Readiness team, this position contributes to collaborative partnerships, such as the City of Commerce City and the City of Aurora, to drive employment outcomes and support continuous program improvement through data tracking and employer engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Placement & Career Support
- Connect students completing training programs, including the skilled trades, with employment opportunities aligned with their career goals.
- Assist students with job search strategies including resume preparation, interview preparation, and application support.
- Coordinate interviews, hiring events, and employer introductions.
- Support students as they transition from training into employment.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers in high-demand industries with a core focus in construction and the skilled trades while also supporting students in manufacturing, diesel mechanics, and other related industrial fields as needed.
- Identify hiring needs and create direct employment pathways.
- Support employers in understanding the skills and credentials students gain through training programs.
- Develop and coordinate internship and work-based learning opportunities that connect students to industry experience.
- Collaborate with internal programs local governments, and community partners to strengthen workforce pathways.
- Track student placement outcomes including employment, internships, and employer partnerships.
- Maintain organized records of employer partnerships and placement efforts.
- Contribute to reporting that measures program effectiveness and impact.
- Representthe programs at workforce events,hiring fairs, andcommunity meetings.
- Promote workforce training opportunities and employment pathways to Commerce City and City of Aurora residents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+years of experience in workforce development, job placement, employer engagement, career services, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain employer, industry partners, or community organization partnerships.
- Experience supporting individuals in job search or workforce training programs.
- Previous demonstrated experience coordinating programs, events, or workforce initiatives.
- Prior knowledge of data tracking, managing records, or using database systems.
- Ability to travel locally within the city of Aurora, Denver metro region, and surrounding communities to attend community events and employer meetings as needed.
- Prior experience in community college workforce or training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to support adult learners and/or nontraditional students.
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
- Familiarity with high-demand industry sectors such as healthcare, construction, or IT.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Salary Range: Anticipated salary is $72,100.00 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
