Adjunct Faculty; Therapeutic Massage Laboratory Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program

Campus Location: Danvers

Work Schedule: Friday: (8:30-10:20 and 10:30-12:20), plus preparation, grading, and student support as needed.

SALARY: Minimum salary is $1,512.00 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Therapeutic Massage Laboratory during the Fall semester. This course provides students with the opportunity to practice traditional massage and relaxation techniques while emphasizing the theory, science, ethics, and professional responsibilities associated with therapeutic massage interventions within physical therapy practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing laboratory instruction, demonstrating therapeutic massage techniques including draping, positioning, and body mechanics, evaluating student performance, and fostering a learning environment that promotes professional behaviors and evidence-based practice.

Job Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in therapeutic massage practice.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). ?
  • Previous teaching, laboratory instruction, clinical education, or mentoring experience. ?
  • Experience working within rehabilitation, sports medicine, outpatient physical therapy, or related healthcare settings. ?
  • Familiarity with Physical Therapist Assistant education and accreditation standards.
