Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric obesity medicine, pediatric weight management, and population health; significant leadership experience in a complex academic medical or healthcare environment; demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build collaborative programs across organizational boundaries; strong record of clinical innovation, scholarship, or research; demonstrated commitment to improving health outcomes for children and adolescents; experience partnering with communities, schools, public health organizations, payers, and policymakers; and excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational leadership skills. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Qualifications include board certification in pediatrics and obesity medicine.

Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and delivering formal lectures in the Department of Pediatrics.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing outpatient care for pediatric patients who are overweight or obese.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing independent and collaborative research programs related obesity medicine and nutrition.

The successful candidate will work across clinical, research, public health, community, policy, and health-system domains to build a nationally distinctive model of pediatric obesity care. Important collaborators will include leaders of CHOP Primary Care, Population Health, Community Impact, Research Institute, and relevant subspecialty divisions, among others. In addition to leading the Obesity Program, the Executive Director will serve as a key institutional leader for obesity-related initiatives within the CHOP Community Outcomes Accelerator, the CHOP PolicyLab, the CHOP Population Health Initiative, and the CHOP Research Institute, creating a powerful platform for translating evidence into practice and improving outcomes at scale.
