Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for two one-year, half-time chemistry instructor positions beginning August 2026. Primary responsibilities will involve teaching at least 6 contact hours per academic semester and may include General Chemistry lectures and/or laboratories and/or non-science major lecture and/or laboratories. Course modalities are in-person. Some evening labs may be required. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly/professional growth; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a master's degree in chemistry or related field is required. One year of college-level teaching experience, or equivalent, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred qualifications for this position is either a master's or Ph.D degree in chemistry with two years of college-level teaching.
