(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for directing KSU's Flight program, a class-year identity program created to increase first-year students' sense of connection, providing support through all four college years. Provides strategic leadership and vision to create supportive and engaged co-curricular learning experiences that prepare all students for transition into college life.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and implements programs, workshops, and activities that actively support all students, enhance their practical and professional skills, and help them be successful in their personal, academic, and professional endeavors.
2. Develops and implement strategies to improve Flight recruitment and engagement.
3. Manages Flight program budgets, including developing annual budget plans, analyzing and monitoring expenses, and making recommendations to leverage existing resources.
4. Builds and maintains strong collaborations with campus partners, including Student Success, Admissions, Enrollment Services, and Orientation and Transfer Programs.
5. Collects and analyzes data to assess the effectiveness and impact of co-curricular departmental and programmatic goals and their impact on student learning and engagement..
6. Supervises a team of professionals, graduate assistants, and student assistants, as required, including hiring, training, professional development, and performance management.
7. Oversees the Flight Student Ambassador program, Student Advisory Committee, and related outreach programs.
8. Supports university and divisional initiatives, including staff involvement, in signature programs and traditions, as requested.
9. Partners with the KSU Foundation to identify alternative funding and resources to support the Flight program.
10. Supports student engagement for athletics and other university-wide programs.
11. Partners with Parent and Family Programs to expand parents and families' connection to the campus community and support student success.
12. Coordinates using the Owl Life student engagement software to create and publicize student programs and events, track student participation, and ensure compliance with divisional and university guidelines.
13. Provides support for other divisional priorities and initiatives beyond the scope of the department, as requested.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in College Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education, College Student Personnel Administration, or related field
Required Experience
Eight (8) years of experience related to position
Previous management and supervisory experience, preferably in Higher Education
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Previous higher education experience

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of college student development theories and student retention efforts
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
