Williams College is seeking an Admission Counselor to join a talented, mission-driven and student-centered staff in the Office of Admission and Student Financial Services.

Our highly collaborative 28-person team honors the college's values and works to build a community of students who are intellectually curious thinkers, creators of initiatives, ideas and art-inside the classroom and beyond it.

We are looking for an Admission Counselor who demonstrates an eagerness to help identify and recruit a student body from across the globe that brings with them a variety of backgrounds, beliefs and lived experiences.

Responsibilities:
Admission Officers participate in all aspects of the admission process, including:
  • Meeting with prospective students and families
  • Leading information sessions and public presentations on campus and virtually, and representing the office year-round through recruitment and travel
  • Reviewing and evaluating applications for admission
  • Serving as a full-voting member of the Admission Committee
  • Working with current students, faculty, staff, and alumni to organize and facilitate recruitment events both on and off campus
  • Support or lead the work of one or more portfolios as a member of one or more teams
  • Oversee projects/programs with the support/supervision of a senior member of the admission office
  • Examples of project areas include: fly-in programs and serving as a member of the access team, communications, campus programs, athletics, systems and operations, international recruitment, etc.


Requirements:

Candidates will be considered for the Assistant Director role if they have at least 2 years of experience in admissions or higher education.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments and timelines simultaneously
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff
  • Experience learning new software and comfort navigating evolving digital tools and technologies.
  • A valid driver's license is required

Application review will begin on July 28, 2026. Pay range is from $53,000 - $58,000, commensurate with experience.

Hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available for up to 2 days of remote work per week for employees based in MA, NY, CT, or VT, following a fully in-person onboarding period. This position requires a majority physical presence on campus with a minimum of 3 days per week of on-campus, in-person work. Remote work arrangements are subject to review and revision as policy evolves.
