What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is searching for a Lab Coordinator experienced in laboratory analysis of water, biological tissues, and soil/sediment samples using wet chemistry techniques and automated instrumentation. Skilled in instrument calibration, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), data validation, laboratory documentation, and training personnel.

A Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.

All applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.

What Will You Do
  • Performed chemical analyses of water, biological tissue, and soil/sediment samples for nutrients and other constituents using wet chemistry and automated laboratory instrumentation.
  • Operated, calibrated, and maintained analytical instruments; developed and verified instrument calibrations to ensure accurate results.
  • Evaluated analytical data for quality and accuracy, implementing corrective actions when quality control criteria were not met.
  • Applied QA/QC procedures to validate data and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Documented analytical procedures, quality control results, instrument issues, and corrective actions.
  • Prepared laboratory reagents, standards, and sample batches; maintained clean and organized laboratory workspaces.
  • Processed and managed environmental samples according to established laboratory protocols.
  • Trained and supervised student workers in routine laboratory operations and analytical procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
