The Department of Human Sciences and Design invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track core faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to join our dynamic and collaborative Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) faculty. The expected start date is June 1, 2027.

Baylor University's MFT program is a newly developed hybrid MS program. We are seeking an innovative faculty member who will help advance our mission to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community. As a hybrid program, MFT faculty and staff live across the United States. Faculty may reside remotely but are required to travel to Waco, TX periodically for designated work periods, including some weekends.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $ 86,000.00 - $ 96,000.00.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will contribute to the year-round responsibilities of teaching graduate-level MFT courses, providing clinical supervision to MFT students, coordinating offsite clinical placements, and supporting the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include active participation in MFT program development, such as supporting program goals and outcomes, overseeing student capstone projects, and engaging in faculty meetings and program retreats. The candidate will also assist with accreditation activities, recruitment efforts, and applicant interviews, as well as serve on departmental, college, and university committees as required. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented clinical environment; contribute to outreach and service initiatives; provide graduate student advising; support curriculum and program development; and fulfill other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Terminal degree in Marriage and Family Therapy; ABD doctoral candidates may be considered.
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate.
  • Applicants must exhibit a collaborative working style (strong communication and interpersonal skills) with faculty and students and model a philosophy consistent with the MFT Program's vision, mission, and values, and Baylor University's Christian mission.




Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Previous MFT program teaching experience and supervision within an accredited MFT program and/or with hybrid/online teaching experience preferred; 3-5 years of clinical experience and practice preferred.
  • Previous experience in academic strategic planning, curriculum development, faculty and student recruitment and retention, program assessment, accreditation processes, clinical supervision, and offsite placement management.
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
  • Demonstrated active involvement within professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
